Not again She thought, as she felt the grip on neck tighten.
She closed her invisible eyes and prepared herself for what she knew was coming.
Let it be over quickly this time She thought, pleading to herself, as with no mouth she could not voice her worries to the giant that was holding her.
And then it happened, once again, she went straight up into the air and plunged down. Her prongs pierced their soft flesh, and as they became skeward onto the end of her she wished it would be over.
And each time the giant bit the lifeless beings from the end of her spikes and proceeded to chew upon them she thought that maybe just maybe that would be it, she would be allowed to rest. But it kept going until there was nothing left for her to pierce.
Geraldine sighed and wished she had been born as anything else but a fork.
